With the closing date of the UK Festivals Awards approaching fast, this is Liverpool’s festival-goers’ last chance to vote for their favourite events of the year. Liverpool has once again made a strong impact on the scene in 2016, with no less than seven home events competing in various categories.
Liverpool International Music Festival and Sound City lead the way as the biggest hitters in the city, whilst the UK’s largest free celebration of African music and culture, Africa Oyé is also up for several awards. The Baltic Triangle’s very own Threshold Festival confirms its breakthrough to the front of the scene with nods in various categories and also nominated for prizes are Liverpool Music Week and Positive Vibration, confirming Liverpool’s position as the cream of the crop among the UK’s major musical cities.
This is the 13th edition of the UK Festival Awards, the most recognised competition for the country’s major events. As well as recognising the hard work of the country’s favourite festivals, voting could also get you some amazing prizes, with all voters going into a draw to win a pair of high-end headphones and tickets to every winning festival next year.
Head to festivalawards.com/vote-now/ to register your choices. Voting closes on 31st October, 2016.
