Liverpool Book Art and Liverpool City Council are showcasing a unique fair of artists’ books at Liverpool’s beautiful refurbished Central Library on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th July 2015.
Featuring work from over 40 artists, the books will range from distinct bindings through to fine press limited editions, to altered books and sculptural work. The diverse works on sale will range from just £5 to several hundred pounds.
Founded by Simon Ryder, Liverpool Book Art is passionate about the whole range of book art. Its aim is to organise events and activities in Liverpool to support artists, with the idea for the fair coming from the realisation that not enough people knew about artists’ books.
“Liverpool has a fantastic arts scene, and also has storytelling at the heart of its culture so it will be really exciting to bring all these elements together in this unique fair,” said Simon. “I’m delighted to be able to present the strength and creativity of the talent in Liverpool and the surrounding region, with a significant number of local artists being selected from an extremely high standard of competition.”
Whether you’re a fan of books, artists or art in general, be sure to visit Liverpool’s Central Library on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th July 2015, to be in with the chance to take a look at, and maybe even buy, some exceptional work.
