Farm Feast, a two day festival of food, drink, music and culture, returns to Wirral’s Claremont Farm on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June 2015. This year the festival is celebrating everything that’s home-grown with the very best of the region’s food, drink and grassroots musicians taking centre stage. Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite, CBeebies’ Katy Ashworth & Mowgli’s Nisha Katona will also join in the festivities. TICKETS
Curated by Andrew Pimbley – whose family run the farm at Claremont – Farm Feast will feature some of the region’s finest producers. Festival favourites including The Ship & Mitre Beer Tent, Beer & Cider Festival, Little Feasters, the Good Life Marquee, a Chefs’ Demo stage and International Street Food return to showcase the breadth of food and drink expertise that’s fresh, home-grown and locally sourced.
2012 Great British Bake Off winner and resident chef on ITV breakfast show Lorraine, John Whaite will head a line up of culinary guests. Since collecting the coveted Bake Off title, John has gained a diploma in patisserie from the revered Le Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts and has published two cookbooks; John Whaite Bakes and John Whaite Bakes at Home. Joining John is children’s TV presenter Katy Ashworth, a familiar face to CBeebies viewers to entertain Little Feasters as well as share some of her cooking tips and tricks. Curry evangelist and founder of Mowgli in Liverpool, Nisha Katona returns to Farm Feast to share recipes and her love of food with fellow foodies.
Music will be programmed by Mellowtone on the Courtyard Stage with Bido Lito and Dovedale Social programming the Main Stage with acts to be announced. Liverpool Live TV will be on site to capture the sights and sounds of the festival and we will once again bring our famous Red Sofa Sessions down to the farm. A favourite with young and old alike the Sheep Show and Vintage Village will also make a welcome return this summer.
A good food hub in Wirral, Claremont Farm is a firm favourite among restaurants, retailers and local shoppers alike. From its famous asparagus to pick your own strawberries, the expanded farm shop, which opened last year, is a haven for those seeking fresh, locally grown or homemade produce and ingredients. A new cafe on the farm site has helped the Pimbley family expand their ethos of the value of great food, tasty treats that are locally sourced.
Last year’s festival was exhilarating and challenging says Andrew, but nothing beats being able to host a festival in your back garden.
“My ambition for Farm Feast was to always celebrate everything that’s local and from the region so food, drink and music. It’s celebrating everything that makes us happy and healthy, from the community around us. We’re a unique festival in the heart of the Wirral countryside. It’s over 30 years that we’ve had the farm shop here in Bebington so we’ve fed a generation of people who’ll probably be bringing their own children to Farm Feast this year.”
