The Clapperboard UK Film Awards 2015

The 10th Clapperboard awards began with a small murmer in the lobby of Liverpool Hope’s Capstone and Cornerstone theatres and one by one it grew to a swelling crowd of the finest in Liverpool and the North-West’s creative scene. Neal Oade tells us more..

Clapperboard, an initiative established in 2004, engages people – particularly young adults – in the creating of short films: documentary, drama or comedy if you like; wherever the creative process takes you. Lead by the charismatic and tireless director Maureen Sinclair, a team of volunteers help produce these films, allowing more of a springing-board for the film-makers to be introduced to institutes such as the National Film and Television School.

The Clapperboard Youth Project is delivered by Clapperboard UK Ltd, a registered charity and non profit making organisation. Clapperboard was set up in 2004 to bring creativity into education and communities across the North West of England, through developing exciting educational film-making and media initiatives with young people between the ages of 7-26. This year Clapperboard celebrates its 10th Awards Ceremony and Liverpool Live TV were very proud to be there to capture all the excitement. During the 2014-15 project, Clapperboard worked with a diverse group of young people from across Merseyside. To date more than 2,000 young people have actively participated in the project.
