kaleidoscopeA band known amongst students of psychedelia and record collectors as one of the defining UK psychedelic pop groups, legendary sixties outfit Kaleidoscope visit Leaf on 2nd April 2015TICKETS

Mining their own take on quintessentially English psychedelia, the band’s 1967 debut ‘Tangerine Dream’, is considered a benchmark of the form, frequently compared to Pink Floyd’s ‘Piper At the Gates of Dawn’ released the same year. Now a highly coveted rarity with original copies fetching in excess of £1000, the group followed the LP with the similarly acclaimed ‘Faintly Blowing’ (1969) and ‘From Home to Home’ (1970) issued under the band name Fairfield Parlour.

Lead singer Peter Daltrey was approached by Rob Campanella from legendary US psych band The Brian Jonestown Massacre, with a view to faithfully re-creating the authentic sound of Kaleidoscope. Recruiting a set of talented multi-instrumentalists the group played a run of shows that culminated in a show at Euro Ye-Ye 2012 in Spain and slot at The Austin Psych Fest the following year.

Reunited with re-united original surviving band members Eddie Pumer and Dan Bridgeman Kaleidoscope are set to issue vinyl only 7” single ‘Black Fjord’ b/w ‘If You So Wish’ on 18th April for Record Store Day 2015.

Special guests on the night are acclaimed Liverpool psychedelic pop quintet The Wicked Whispers, who launch their new single ‘Maps of the Mystic’, the title track of their debut album which was issued to a warm reception last year.
