Gretchen PetersSince the release of her album ‘Hello Cruel World’ in 2012, two-time Grammy nominee Gretchen Peters has been in near-constant motion, touring for the past two years, releasing a live DVD and CD, and appearing at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Cambridge Folk Festivals. With new album ‘Blackbirds’ reaching No. 1 in the UK Country Chart in May 2015, Gretchen is now touring the UK and will be playing her only date in Wales at the Rhyl Pavilion Theatre on Tuesday 9th February 2016. The Nashville-based musician has risen to the top of her craft by writing and recording songs that explore the deep corners of life with empathy and integrity. Over the years she has accumulated various accolades as a songwriter for artists as diverse as Etta James, Bonnie Raitt, The Neville Brothers, Patty Loveless, George Strait, Bryan Adams and Faith Hill, and was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in October 2014.

In addition to her songwriting for other artists she has also reached fame through headlining her own sold-out tours, and also through supporting country and folk legends Guy Clark, Arlo Guthrie and John Prine.

Now with renowned album ‘Blackbirds’ and a tour which is already underway, Peters has truly been established as a one-of-a-kind singer and songwriter who is in possession of a fearless and endlessly creative voice. It will certainly be worth catching her this month when she will be playing her only Welsh date at Rhyl’s Pavilion Theatre.
