WHAT’S ON: King King | Epstein Theatre | 09.03.16

King King are on a roll. Right now the Glasgow-based band are on the brink of their busiest period to date, touring off the back of the release of their third album ‘Reaching For The Light’ and continuing to bring their music to fans across Europe. Their current UK tour will see them stopping off at Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre on Wednesday 9th March 2016. TICKETS

TKing Kinghe group, made up of Alan Nimmo (vocals/guitar), Lindsay Coulson (bass), Wayne Proctor (drums) and Bob Fridzema (keys), are now “the hottest draw in British blues-rock” says Henry Yates of Classic Rock Blues. Yet there’s no smoke and mirrors behind their five-year rise – just killer songs, performed with true passion, by a perfect line-up.

Their continued success is something that is reflected by the staggering amount of plaudits they have been awarded: their five victories at the 2014 British Blues Awards, not least ‘Best Band’ (for a third consecutive year) and ‘Best Album’ for 2013’s ‘Standing In The Shadows’, an album that was also included in The Blue Mag’s Top 50 Albums of 2013 and Paul Jones’ BBC Radio end-of-year countdown.

Yet the real evidence of King King’s triumphs are with the audiences, who flock to see the band play and are continually blown away by their live performances and their powerful songs.

Whether you look to the awards, the music, or the fans, it is clear to see that King King are fast becoming a group to watch out for. Catch them this March at the Liverpool Epstein Theatre, when they will be supported by special guest Laurence Jones.
