WHATS ON: The Puppini Sisters | Epstein Theatre | 08.03.2016

The Puppini SistersWhen you start out retro, you don’t expect to become true originals – but that’s the position The Puppini Sisters (Marcella Puppini, Kate Mullins and Emma Smith) are delighted to find themselves in. Regarded as the world’s leading close-harmony group, the trio are about to embark on a UK tour to promote the release of their new album, and will be performing in Liverpool on Tuesday 8th March 2016 at the Epstein Theatre. In the ten years since they began, it’s extraordinary how many others have followed their trailblazing lead, whether it’s their gorgeous singing style, their swing re-workings of modern pop songs, or their impeccable retro-futuristic fashion sense.

The group was founded in 2004 by Marcella Puppini after she was inspired by the animated film Belleville Rendez-Vous, and in 2005 they were signed by Universal Classics and Jazz.

Since then the group have been awarded Gold and Multi-Platinum discs, collaborated with Michael Bublé and have performed on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including Koko and The Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London, l’Olympia in Paris, The Great Hall of Conservatory in Moscow, The Greek in L.A., B.B. King’s in New York and Glastonbury Festival.

They have also made plenty of TV show appearances, including The Graham Norton Show, Strictly Come Dancing, This Morning, and Michael Bublé’s Christmas Special on NBC.

With four albums under their waist-cinching belts and a fifth one on the way, The Puppini Sisters are continuing to enjoy immense success and a growing number of fans. You’ll count yourself among them after you catch their show at the Epstein Theatre this March.
