WHATS ON: The Haunting Of Hill House | Liverpool Playhouse | 7 December 2015 – 16 January 2016

The Haunting Of Hill HouseThis Christmas at the Liverpool Playhouse, the horror genre makes a return with The Haunting Of Hill House, the first major UK stage adaptation of Shirley Jackson’s novel. The production is a collaboration between Sonia Friedman Productions and HAMMER, and it will run at the Williamson Square venue from Monday 7th December 2015 until Saturday 16th January 2016. TICKETS

When three strangers are invited to join the mysterious Dr Montague at the eerie house on the hill, not even their darkest dreams could have prepared them for what awaits. As their stay unfolds, they are plagued by a series of inexplicable events that propel them to the very edge of their existence. They should have heeded the warning that no-one visits Hill House, especially after dark…

The full cast for the show has just been announced, with Emily Bevan (ITV’s Doc Martin and BBC’s The Casual Vacancy) playing Eleanor. Joining her will be Chipo Chung (Everyman & Playhouse’s The Mayor of Zalamea and Sky’s Fortitude), Jane Guernier (RSC’s Brand), Joseph May (BBC’s Episodes), and Martin Turner (National Theatre’s Medea).

Adapted by Anthony Neilson for the stage, and directed by Olivier and Tony Award nominee Melly Still, this will be an alternative theatre experience over the festive period, with the 150-year-old Playhouse acting as the perfect setting for this terrifying psychological thriller. Tickets on sale now.
