COMING UP: MORE Jubilee celebrations at Liverpool ONE, May-June 2012

The Royal Jubilee weekend is set to be a nationwide celebration. Liverpool ONE are encouraging people to join the party in May and June. The shopping centre itself and Chavasse Park will be filled with fun, food and entertainment for all of the family.

Thurs 31st May – ONE’s wish for the Queen: As part of their Diamond Jubilee celebrations, Liverpool ONE is inviting members of the public to write special messages for the Queen that will be hung from a ‘Wishes Tree’. From Thursday 31 May to Tuesday 5 June, 2012 three birch trees, called Wishes Trees, will be on Lower South John Street in Liverpool ONE waiting to be filled with well wishes and messages for the Queen. At the end of the Jubilee weekend the messages will be taken down from the trees and sent to Buckingham Palace for the Queen to read.

2nd – 4th June -Ted Baker: Ted Baker will be celebrating over the long weekend with a red, white & blue party. Celebratory bubbles will be served in bespoke cups and the store will be celebrating with fabulous giveaways – red white & blue sticks of rock, Ted’s Crowning Glory paper crowns, and Jubilee Commemorative badges! 2nd – 5th June – Disney Store: Disney Store invites all little Princesses and Princes to visit their local Disney Store for the opportunity to take part in themed crafting events. Guests can personalise their very own Union Jack flag with a Disney twist. For more information please see or visit the store in Liverpool ONE.

Family Day – Tues 5th June: Day out for all the Family – visit Chavasse Park for Music Workshops with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. These 45-minute workshops introduce children to music through games, singing, active listening and hands-on music making with members of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

Times and Ages:

11.45am – 12.30pm Workshop 1: for 5-7 years (max 20 children)

12.45pm – 1.30pm Workshop 2: for 0-2 years (max 15 children)

1.45pm – 2.30pm Workshop 3: for 3-4 years (max 15 children

)3.15pm – 4.00pm Workshop 4: for 3-4 years (max 15 children)

4.15pm – 5.00pm Workshop 5: for 8-11 years (max 20 children)

Parents can bring older or younger siblings to the workshops but if they wish to join in they must be included in participant numbers and a separate space booked for them. The maximum number of adults per family is 2.

There will also be other children’s entertainment and games with Build-A-Bear Workshop and free face painting for all children. Kids will get the chance to meet Build a Bear characters as well as Ice Age characters Scrat and Sid who will be on Chavasse Park between 11.30am – 4.30pm.
