COMING UP: ONE’s Royal Weekend at Liverpool ONE, 2-5 June 2012

The Royal Jubilee weekend is set to be a nationwide celebration. Liverpool ONE are encouraging people to join the party at Chavasse Park from 2nd June to 5th June. The park will be filled with fun, food and entertainment plus music from The Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Kazimier Krunk Band, Can Cook and more

Here’s what’s in store:

Sat 2nd June – Visitors can enjoy cooking lessons on Chavasse Park in conjunction with Can Cook. There will also be street entertainment including a Town Crier, Royal Footmen and Knights in Armour plus music from The Kazimier Krunk Band, Wayfarer Barbershop Chorus and Liverpool Ukulele Orchestra.

Sun 3rd June – The Big Lunch – Visitors can join in the nationwide celebration The Big Lunch on Chavasse Park with cooking lessons in the Can Cook dome, plus street entertainment from a Town Crier, Beefeaters and Palace Guards and free face painting for the kids. There will also be music courtesy of The Hot Dinners, Wayfarer Barbershop Chorus and Liverpool Ukulele Orchestra

Mon 4th June – Proms in the Park with The Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra – One of the Jubilee weekend’s highlights will be Proms in the Park. Local bands will play on Chavasse Park including Wirral Schools Concert Band, Liverpool University Wind Band, Port Sunlight Lyceum Band, St Helen’s Concert Band and University of Liverpool Big Band. Headlining Proms in the Park will be the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra who have performed internationally in Poland, Spain, Germany, Hungary and the Czech Republic.

Tues 5th June – Family Day – A day out for all the family! Visit Chavasse Park for music workshops with the Liverpool Philharmonic plus other children’s entertainment and games with Build-A-Bear Workshop and free face painting for all children.
