COMING UP: Savages, Palma Violets and Death At Sea at Leaf Bold Street, 25 July 2012

Leaf on Bold Street will be hosting a co-headliner show on 25th July featuring Savages and Palma Violets plus very special guests Death At Sea, making it a clean sweep of the 3 most talked about bands across the UK right now.

Savages are undoubtedly one of the hottest emerging bands around. The buzz is phenomenal and early live reviews have been sensational across the board. From bloggers through to the music and the national press, they are all in agreement that Savages have “it”. Be sure to catch them at this show. “Savages are the hottest new band on the scene. All girl 4 piece who combine dissonant noise with no wave and a raw garage rock power and come up with something quite special. We urge you to check them out!” John Robb, Louder Than War.

Palma Violets are a new garage rock band fresh out of London. Although they have not been together for that long they have already made a name for themselves amongst the media. Particularly with music magazine NME: “OK, yes, you might think we at NME have a tendency to get over-enthusiastic about bands sometimes. But listen: we’ve been down here, to this strange house in south London, a few times now, and kept our mouths shut for a couple of months. We wanted to make double sure that Palma Violets are all we thought they were. They are. And it’s time to get very excited”.

Death At Sea describe themselves as “noise from Liverpool” on their Facebook page. Their EP ‘Life and Youth’ was released in February this year and is immensely popular with singles such as ‘Drag’ and ‘Sea Foam Green’.
