COMING UP: The Ultimate Merseybeat Show at Empire Theatre, 23 June 2012

It’s 50 years since The Beatles first record launched Merseybeat onto an unsuspecting world. Now, Radio Merseyside’s Billy Butler has put together The Ultimate Merseybeat Show featuring the most Merseybeat artists ever on one show at the Empire Theatre on Saturday 23rd June, all in aid of the Alzheimers Society. 

The acts scheduled to peform along with The Merseybeats are the original line up of The Fourmost, Mike Pender (voice of The Searchers), Ray Eniss (voice of The Swinging Blue Jeans), 6 of the Cavern Club’s Legends and Tribute acts Elvis (Presley) Clayton and Mike Byrne as Jerry Lee Lewis.

Backed by the Gary Murphy Band, it could be the last time all these legends appear together on the same stage and where better than the Liverpool Empire Theatre.

Radio Merseyside presenters Billy Butler, Frankie Conner, Roger Lyon and Spencer Leigh compere the show. Tickets start at just £10 and all profits go to The Altzheimers SocietyBilly Butler, Radio Merseyside presenter said: “This is the dream show for music and Merseybeat fans, it’s the groups and solo performers who created the sound that swept the world! And it’s for such a good cause – Alzheimers.”

The Alzheimers Society is a membership organisation, which works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
