Empire Theatre brings Freddie Cross the Mersey

A 3-metre tall statue of Queen legend Freddie Mercury joined commuters and tourists today as he sailed into Liverpool on board the World famous Mersey Ferry. Freddie was on hand to promote the touring production of Queen musical We Will Rock You which opens at the Empire Theatre on 6th September

Those on board posed for photos with the statue as it crossed the river courtesy of Merseytravel. After his arrival at the Pier Head, Freddie stayed on board to enjoy the rest of his River Explorer Cruise

Freddie’s next port of call will be as a guest of the Southport Flower Show this coming weekend (18-21 Aug). He will also appear at other attractions around the region in the run up to the show’s opening.

The record breaking We Will Rock You opens at the Liverpool Empire on 6th September and will rock for a further three weeks with a cast featuring Noel Sullivan, Ian Reddington, Earl Carpenter and Liverpool’s Leon Lopez.
