GRAND NATIONAL: Get Set for Aintree 2013


The eyes of the world will once again be focused on Aintree Racecourse as the Grand National meeting takes place on 4th-6th April 2013. The greatest Steeplechase in the world may pose it’s problems to horse and jockey but there’s no need to worry about where to eat, drink, get dolled up and party, as we’ve compiled a list of everything you need to know. Liverpool Day is gone this year replaced instead with ‘Grand Opening Day’ (4th Apr) and features a headline performance by everybody’s favourite girl group The Saturdays. Friday 5th April is of course Ladies Day and the biggest day in Liverpool’s social calendar. Get your best togs on to be in with a chance of scooping £5000 in the Matalan style competition. The weekend is topped off with the biggest single horse race in the world the Grand National and Katherine Jenkins performs (6th Apr). Tickets are available for all three days at Aintree.co.uk

If you don’t already know how you’re getting to the races it’s best to start planning ahead, as booking in advance will save headaches on the day. The easiest option is to book a package deal like the ones below, or if travel is your only fear then public transport is definitely the way to go. Finding a parking space at Aintree will be nothing short of a miracle, but Aintree train station is just over the road.
