Fresh from supporting Bon Jovi in Manchester Xander and the Peace Pirates were on hand to provide some music as guests were treated to canapés and champagne. For every purchase made on the evening, The Home Quarter donated 10% of the purchase value directly to the Marina Dalglish Appeal; furthermore 10% of any other purchases until the 31st August will also be donated to the charity when producing the donation card given to each guest on the night.

Marina and the Home Quarter’s Nicola Orrell were charged with drawing the raffle. Prizes included a five star holiday to Mauritius won by Carol Duffy who was understandably excited as she collected her prize from luxury travel company Kuoni. Kenny Dalglish was also on hand to sign copies of his autobiography in a night which raised thousands for the appeal.

Alastair Bailey, Managing Director of The Home Quarter said; “We are delighted to have chosen the Marina Dalglish Appeal as our charity partner of the year. It is a cause we feel strongly about and are happy to support the Appeal as much as we can. We’re very much looking forward to working with Marina and her team and are especially enthusiastic about announcing our exciting fundraising strategy.”

The Marina Dalglish Appeal is dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer research and treatment. Marina herself was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2003; which of course had a dramatic effect on her and her family. Fortunately, with the help of a wonderful team of doctors, nurses, oncologists and carers, Marina was able to fight the disease. Without their skill and dedication, love and support, Marina believes she could not have come through the ordeal. It is because of this, Marina along with her husband Kenny set up the Appeal.

Marina Dalglish, Founder at the Marina Dalglish Appeal continued by saying; “Kenny and I have been constantly amazed at how much time, effort and money you have all been willing to donate, and we realize that nothing would be possible without your help.  Thank you all very much and hopefully together we can achieve our new goal.”

The partnership will see The Home Quarter work closely alongside the Marina Dalglish Appeal to raise much needed funds and awareness for the important work the Appeal does.
