Liverpool Club Nights Come Together to Remember Sam Jones

The Liverpool music scene suffered a great loss this earlier this summer when cherished friend and respected colleague Sam Jones passed away. As a tribute to Sam two of his best loved club nights Smile & Voodoo are coming together for special event at Silo to raise money towards a trust fund for his two children

Sam was instrumental in bringing great music to the city either as promoter of club nights or more recently in his role as General Manager of the O2 Academy.

Smile was shear balearic mayhem with guest DJs every week in 1991-92. Voodoo is the legendary techno night hosted in sweatboxes around Liverpool featuring DJs from the UK to Berlin to Detroit.

The night will be hosted by Paul Myers & Steve Sheils (Smile & Voodoo respectively) and if that wasn’t enough 2 of Smile’s favourite guests, Rocky & Diesel (Xpress 2) have agreed to join the boys for a musical extravaganza Sam would have been proud of.

In keeping with Sam’s musical philosophies, the night will not only revisit some of the finer moments of these legendary nights, but also push boundaries with the latest electronic vibe

The door charge on the night will be £10 and all monies collected on the night will be going towards a trust fund for Sam’s 2 children.

Your support for this event will be greatly appreciated, let’s give this music scene legend a fitting send off!
