LLTV: Red Sofa Session #10 Dominic Dunn

Number 10 in our series of Red Sofa Sessions sees a very special performance by local singer songwriter Dominic Dunn. This song is called “The Angel” and is dedicated to the memory of Anne Williams, the Hillsborough Justice campaigner who lost her son Kevin at the tragedy.

Dom was approached by the organisers of the charity football match ‘Norwegian Wools v Scouse Reds’ who asked him if he could write a song in memory of Anne Williams who lost her son Kevin at Hillsborough when he was only fifteen and campaigned for truth and justice for the 96 ever since.

The event raised £7500 which was split between the Hope for Hillsborough Charity and the Queenscourt Hospice in Southport where Anne was cared for during her battle with cancer. Dom wrote the song ‘The Angel’ and played it after the match at an event attended by Anne’s daughter Sara and other members of her family.

The family and organisers of the event have since asked Dom to record the song with a view to releasing it next year around the time of Anne’s anniversary. Dom has agreed to give the song to Anne’s family so that any money made from selling the single can be donated to the ongoing fight for justice for the 96.
