NEWS: Cast announced for Peter Pan panto at Liverpool Empire

Following last year’s triumphant, critically-acclaimed pantomime season, the Liverpool Empire has announced that Peter Pan will be flying into Liverpool this Christmas. Peter Pan includes an all star cast and runs from Friday 13 December 2013 to Sunday 5 January 2014.

Taking on the role of the boy who never grew up is Liverpool’s very own, Ray Quinn. Ray began his career playing the part of Anthony Murray in Channel 4’s hit soap Brookside, a role for which he won several soap awards, but it was ITV’s X Factor that really propelled him to fame in 2006. Ray then went on to win the 2009 series of Dancing on Ice. Since then, Ray has enjoyed a hugely successful stage career starring in some of the biggest musicals ever including Legally Blonde the Musical, Dirty Dancing and Grease, where he played the iconic role of Danny Zuko.

Also starring in this year’s festive spectacular is another Brookside legend, Louis Emerick, who will be starring as the ultimate ‘boo hiss’ baddie Captain Hook. Louis starred in Brookside for over 12 years where he portrayed the character of Mick Johnson. He has also appeared in some of TV’s most popular shows including Casualty, Silent Witness, Last of the Summer Wine and Holby City.

Following his hilarious portrayal as an Ugly Sister last year, Radio City’s Pete Price is back to tread the boards once more and this year will be playing the part of a pirate! Aye Captain!

Joining Ray in panto this Christmas is his wife and stage actress, Emma Stephens, who is cast as Wendy. The couple met when they appeared together in the London stage production of Grease and they tied the knot in 2012! Sean Mason will be playing the part of the loveable Smee and Leanne Campbell will star as Tiger Lily.

Ray Quinn said, “Emma and I are really excited to be working together over Christmas in Liverpool. I can’t wait to come home and get back on the Empire stage. It’s one of the best theatres in the country and I love performing here to a home crowd.”

Louis Emerick added, “Panto is a big family tradition in Liverpool and the story of Peter Pan is timeless so working with FFE at the Empire is pretty special. My aim is to be the meanest panto villain and get the loudest boo’s in Liverpool this Christmas!”

So join Peter, Tinkerbell, the Lost Boys and the Darling family as they soar through the skies, encounter Captain Hook and discover the magic of Neverland at the Liverpool Empire this Christmas.
