NEWS: Local young actress stars in BBC documentary ‘Liverpool’s Titanic Girl’

Young Liverpool actress will be starring in a BBC documentary about the story behind the forthcoming Sea Odyssey event. ‘Liverpool’s Titanic Girl’ will include footage from Sea Odyssey (taking place this weekend 20-22 Apr) and will air on BBC One, Monday 23rd April 2012. In the documentary there are several reconstructions of May McMurray who is played by up and coming actresses, Amélie Aicher.

Amélie also recently starred in a film with Jodie Marsh, Adele Silva (Emmerdale), Anthony Quinlan (Hollyoaks) and Steven Pinder (Brookside).  She currently attends Stagecoach Drama Classes in Chester.

The story is of a young girl from Liverpool, May McMurray, whose father died on the Titanic.  The original letter that May wrote to her father forms one of the most personal and poignant exhibits of the newly opened exhibition Titanic and Liverpool – The Untold Story.

On Friday 20th April 2012, a 30-foot little girl giant puppet will start out on a three-day enactment of a story based on the letter of May McMurray. This spectacular Sea Odyssey puppet show can be followed around the streets of Liverpool city centre.  For more information and maps of the giants’ route CLICK HERE
