NEWS: New hair shop Swanky Malone to retro chic to city

Swanky Malone
, a cool and quirky hair shop for ladies and gentlemen, is now open for business on St Mary’s Road in Garston, Liverpool (continuation of Aigburth Rd, opposite St Mary’s Church). The hair shop promises to give customers a true 1950s experience from the moment they step in.

In a city awash with hairdressers and barbers, claiming to be truly unique is a bold assertion for any start up, but with its authentic 1950’s vibe that penetrates through everything from the reclaimed, original chairs to the dapper three-piece suits worn its stylists, Swanky Malone can definitely make such a claim, and back it up with aplomb.

As well as a cut and style, customers can expect a real experience when they step into Swanky Malone. That experience is one that has been cleverly tailored to appeal to men and women alike. Top stylists Cameron Stananought and Laurence Morris are young lads-about-town who work their magic on and exchange banter with the broad spectrum of customers that the shop attracts.

It is a truly independent business and a labour of love for the pair who, both just 23-years-old, have amassed levels of experience that would be difficult for any young stylist to surpass. They trained together straight from school, at top Liverpool hairdressing academy Andrew Collinge. Laurence honed his craft at the renowned salon for a total of seven years, while Cameron took his skills international, working in Australia and New Zealand before returning to embark on this new venture as owner of Swanky Malone with Laurence in place as manager.

The combination of youth and experience is one that provides Swanky Malone with an edge and the enthusiasm of the young business owner is already paying off. Cameron Stananought, owner and top stylist said:

“We have been thrilled with the level of business that Swanky Malone has attracted so far and I’m very pleased to say that we’re already building up repeat customers and receiving recommendations”.

Male and female, young and old, Swanky Malone is designed to welcome the entire community. The use of EVO products, an economical, animal friendly, Australian brand that is sulphate and paraben free, appeals to the fashion forward female in search of the perfect up-do, as well as the style conscious guy hoping to achieve a no nonsense cool cut. The dulcet tones of Frank and the rest of the Rat Pack, that can often be heard from the stereo, are enjoyed by young fans of ‘retro cool’ just as much those who remember the 1950’s first time around!
